"How to Make Money Selling Drugs" is an insiders guide to the violent but extremely lucrative drug industry, and sheds new light on the corruption and controversy surrounding the war on drugs.

Produced in association with the Drug Policy Alliance, the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University, and Tribeca Film, Tug of War on Drugs is your chance to participate in the conversation started by the documentary, and find out what people really think about the war on drugs.

Open the app for the latest breaking stories from the front lines of the war on drugs. Then, share your point of view by virtually voting on whether issues – from marijuana legalization in Colorado to Major League Baseball’s fight against performance-enhancing drugs – are positive or negative, and what impact they have in the ongoing drug war.

Place your vote by pulling a virtual rope to where you stand on the issues, sliding left and right for positive and negative, and up and down for how important you think a story is.

Once your opinion is locked in, it becomes part of a dynamic and ever-changing data visualization, offering a live look at shifting opinions around the war on drugs. The visualization acts as a snapshot of public sentiment about the drug war, showing how people are feeling about specific issues as well as where your opinions fit into the bigger picture. Is the war on drugs working? Who’s winning? And what does winning mean to you?

New stories are added to the app daily, and as more users share their opinions a clearer picture is formed of public perception around the war on drugs.
